Sidney Crosby’s Epic Fight After 4-Year Gap: Penguins vs Buffalo Exhibition Game

Penguins forward Sidney Crosby engages in a fierce altercation with Buffalo Sabres forward Peyton Krebs during an impressive 7-4 victory on the road in a preseason match. The action took place at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, N.Y.

The intense fight unfolded at 3:50 of the second period when Crosby expressed his discontent with a hit delivered by Krebs and Tyson Jost to Penguins defenseman Kris Letang.

On top of that, Crosby was given a roughing minor penalty for his involvement in the incident.

“Upon witnessing Tanger being hit, I reacted instinctively. As a matter of fact, I’m not even sure if I confronted the right person who initiated the initial hit,” Crosby stated during his post-game interview with reporters in Buffalo. “All I saw was the aftermath and what appeared to be two players somewhat assaulting him. It didn’t exactly turn out that way, but it’s just a part of the game.”

According to Hockey Fights, this marked Crosby’s ninth fighting major throughout his illustrious career, now entering its 19th season.

Interestingly, this confrontation signifies Crosby’s first fight in precisely four years, with his previous altercation occurring against Pierre-Luc Dubois in a game against Columbus on October 5, 2019.

“I genuinely believe that this incident epitomizes his exceptional leadership,” praised coach Mike Sullivan. “He consistently stands up for his teammates. In this particular situation, I’m relieved that it didn’t escalate for too long. Naturally, we don’t desire to see him in those circumstances, but it truly demonstrates his remarkable leadership qualities.”
