Seton Hall basketball lands Godswill Erheriene, Class of 2024 big man

Seton Hall basketball has made a big splash as the fall signing period begins.

In an exciting turn of events, Godswill Erheriene, a senior forward/center at Long Island Lutheran, committed to the Pirates on Thursday. He’s the second Class of 2024 commit, following combo guard Jahseem Felton from North Carolina who recently signed a National Letter of Intent as well.

Here are three compelling facts about Erheriene:

1. In Nigerian Descent

Erheriene, a towering 6-foot-9 and 225-pound player, arrived in the U.S. in January 2022 and quickly caught the eye of the recruiting industry. 247Sports ranks him at three stars and the No. 115 player in the 2024 class, while Rivals has him at three stars and No. 128. On3 has him at four stars and No. 108. Erheriene has drawn significant interest from Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and UMass alongside Seton Hall.

2. A Dominant Power Player

Erheriene’s prowess was evident when 247Sports talent evaluator Eric Bossi praised him as “easily one of the most intriguing post players” at the HoopHall West showcase. His play style is characterized by power, precision, and ability to impact games on both ends of the court.

PrepHoops.com also praised Erheriene’s dominance, describing him as “the most dominant big in attendance” at the Will Barton Elite Camp. His performance demonstrated his ability to create scoring chances, command the paint, and make an impact on various facets of the game.

The evaluation continued: “He tried to dunk any touch that he had in the paint. When he wasn’t tearing the rim down, he was converting soft touch hooks over his left shoulder or earning second-chance points for his squad. He set punishing screens, pursued rebounds out of his area and his presence alone was enough to make opposing guards think twice.”

3. Immediate Impact Potential

Erheriene’s arrival presents a valuable opportunity for Seton Hall as they prepare for the upcoming season. With several returning bigs, Erheriene will have the chance to make an immediate contribution to the team.

Excitement is building around the Hall’s recruiting efforts in the high school ranks, despite scholarship limitations. As the National Letter of Intent fall signing period unfolds from Nov. 8-15, the Pirates are positioned for a bright future.
