San Antonio Spurs beat Phoenix Suns 115-114 in frantic finish

The San Antonio Spurs staged an incredible comeback to secure a thrilling 115-114 victory over the Phoenix Suns.

The Suns led by 13 points early in the fourth quarter, but it was Victor Wembanyama who narrowed the gap to 114-111 with a well-executed jump shot with just 49 seconds remaining.

The number one draft pick then made a powerful dunk from a rebound with only six seconds left on the clock. In a dramatic turn of events, Keldon Johnson managed to steal the ball from Kevin Durant and scored, giving the Spurs their first and decisive lead of the game with a mere 1.2 seconds remaining.

Moments before this, Durant became only the 12th player in NBA history to reach the milestone of 27,000 points.

The 35-year-old superstar, who contributed 26 points in the game at Footprint Center, achieved this incredible feat in his 990th game. It is worth noting that only Wilt Chamberlain, Michael Jordan, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar accomplished this in fewer matches.

With Johnson’s impressive 27-point performance and the notable contributions of French rookie Wembanyama and Devin Vassell, who each scored 18 points, the Spurs bounced back from Sunday’s devastating 40-point loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, securing their first away win of the season.

Currently sitting at eighth place in the Western Conference standings, the Spurs will face the Suns once again at the same venue on Thursday.
