LAS VEGAS – Sadibou Sy, a highly dangerous striker in the PFL, is eager to showcase his skills beyond just striking in his upcoming championship bout. Sy (16-6-2 MMA, 10-4-2 PFL) will face Magomed Magomedkerimov for the second time at the 2023 PFL Championships on Nov. 23, aiming to defend his welterweight title. During the regular season, Sy impressed with a brutal knee to the body of Jarrah Al-Silawi and a smooth walkoff wheel kick of Shane Mitchell. While Magomedkerimov (33-6 MMA, 15-1 PFL) may try to avoid striking exchanges, Sy welcomes the opportunity to test his grappling skills against him. Sy has shown significant improvement in all aspects of his game during his PFL journey, working hard to reach championship level. He is excited to see how his wrestling has progressed since his last fight with Magomedkerimov, and expressed confidence in his ability to outwrestle him. In their previous encounter in 2021, Magomedkerimov defeated Sy by unanimous decision. However, Sy has since become a more well-rounded fighter, currently on a seven-fight winning streak. When asked about his strategy for victory on Nov. 23, Sy playfully replied that the referee will simply raise his hand in triumph.
