NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Vincent Trocheck showcased his talent with a goal and two assists, propelling the Rangers to a stellar comeback, securing a 4-3 victory over the Nashville Predators on Saturday.
Jacob Trouba, Chris Kreider, and Ryan Lindgren also contributed goals for New York, extending their winning streak to five out of six games. With three assists, Adam Fox played a pivotal role, while Jonny Brodzinski added two of his own. Igor Shesterkin was a brick wall in goal, making 36 saves.
Ryan O’Reilly was a force for Nashville, recording a goal and an assist, with Roman Josi and Colton Sissons also getting on the scoresheet. The Predators, despite winning six in a row previously, have now lost two consecutive games. Goalie Kevin Lankinen did his part, making 23 key saves.
The Rangers displayed their resilience, trailing 2-0 and 3-1 before mounting an impressive three-goal comeback.
Kreider’s goal at 8:52 of the second period breathed new life into New York after a shorthanded goal by Sissons. Trocheck then equalized on a power play, redirecting Mika Zibanejad‘s pass past Lankinen. Lindgren sealed the deal with the game-winning goal in the third period, aided by a fortuitous deflection off the skate of Predators defenseman Jeremy Lauzon.
The first period saw O’Reilly scoring first for the Predators at 6:19, followed by Josi doubling the lead on a power play. Trouba got the Rangers on the scoreboard 31 seconds into the second period, igniting their comeback.
