The College of Wooster men’s basketball team suffered a close 78-77 loss to Rowan University at the University of Rochester’s Louis Alexander Palestra. The game featured a lot of back-and-forth, with 14 lead changes and the score tied nine times.
Wooster’s lead late in the game was short-lived, as a foul with only four seconds left on the clock allowed Rowan University’s Josh Wright to secure a 78-77 victory with two successful free throws. This left Wooster unable to make a comeback in the final seconds.
EJ Kapihe’s outstanding performance, with 20 points and five rebounds, was a highlight despite Wooster’s loss. Other noteworthy contributions included Ashton Price’s 12 points and Jaiden Cox-Holloway’s career-high 10 points.
Looking ahead, Wooster will host Rose-Hulman Institution of Technology on November 17 as part of the program’s annual Al Van Wie/Wooster Rotary Classic. Attendees who donate two canned or boxed food items for People to People Ministries food pantry will receive half-price admission.
