RJ Barrett to miss Wednesday’s game vs. Cavaliers with a sore knee

The Knicks have announced that RJ Barrett will not be playing in tonight’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers due to a sore left knee.

Head Coach Tom Thibodeau stated that Barrett’s availability would be determined right before the game, as he had been experiencing discomfort in his knee. Barrett played 25 minutes in Tuesday’s victory over the Cavs, recording 16 points and three rebounds on 5-of-13 shooting.

Barrett came into tonight’s game with 4984 career points. He will have to wait until the Knicks’ next game on Friday against the Milwaukee Bucks to potentially reach the milestone of 5000 points.

Oct. 18, 6:00 p.m.

Immanuel Quickley will be sitting out the Knicks’ preseason finale against the Washington Wizards tonight, as confirmed by Coach Tom Thibodeau.

The guard is dealing with a minor injury, according to the head coach. This will be Quickley’s second consecutive game missed, following his absence in Tuesday night’s defeat against the Celtics.

The Knicks will kick off their regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at Madison Square Garden, facing the Celtics.

Oct. 13, 2:28 p.m.

There has been some uncertainty surrounding Josh Hart after his absence in the preseason opener, and Coach Tom Thibodeau revealed on Friday that the forward is indeed dealing with a minor issue.

Thibodeau clarified, “He’s nicked up a little bit, but it’s not categorized as an injury or anything prolonged. We want to address it now to avoid any complications during the season.”

Regarding Hart’s participation in Saturday’s preseason game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Thibodeau added, “We’ll assess his response day by day… but he seems to be moving well. We’ll see how he feels tomorrow, and I anticipate him playing some minutes.”
