The ongoing battle between X and multiple major corporations rages on, extending beyond a mere pause in advertising.
According to Sean Keeley of AwfulAnnouncing.com, several ESPN accounts made no posts on Saturday on Twitter.
Keeley reports that the main ESPN account, ESPN CFB, and College GameDay have all remained silent. It appears that other ESPN accounts, including SportsCenter (with 42.3 million followers) and the ESPN’s NFL account (4.3 million) have also refrained from posting.
A controversy surrounding antisemitic content on X led to an advertising pause by Disney (ESPN’s parent company), IBM, Amazon, NBCUniversal, and Apple last Friday.
The pressing question remains: whether ESPN ceased posting voluntarily or if X retaliated by halting ESPN’s ability to post in response to the advertising pause.
Ever since Elon Musk acquired Twitter, the platform has been embroiled in numerous controversies, resulting in a significant loss of value. Many users now hope for its demise.
Despite this, we intend to maintain our presence on Twitter, as it has served as a crucial platform for sharing our content for nearly 15 years – unless, of course, it disappears for good.
