Relegated LIV golfer contending for PGA Tour card in Q-school

Turk Pettit aims to achieve a remarkable feat: transitioning from LIV Golf to the PGA Tour.

At just 24 years old, Pettit competed in all eight events of the Saudi-backed circuit’s inaugural 2022 season. He represented Bubba Watson’s Niblicks GC, which has now been rebranded as the Range Goats.

According to Golf Monthly, the former Clemson Tiger earned nearly $1.7 million. His best finish came at LIV Golf’s Bangkok event in Thailand, where he tied for 27th place.

However, he struggled to establish himself on the breakaway circuit and was subsequently relegated to the Asian Tour, where he spent the majority of the 2023 season.

Pettit’s standout performance of the season came at the St. Andrews Bay Championship, where he tied for eighth place. After shooting a remarkable 10-under 62 in the third round, he held the 54-hole lead on his own. Unfortunately, a disappointing 2-over 74 in the final round prevented him from claiming victory.
