In the upcoming CONCACAF Nations League match, El Salvador and Martinique will face each other for the second time in a matter of days. Martinique enters the encounter with confidence after securing a narrow 1-0 victory last Friday.

El Salvador already knows that they will be playing in League B in the 2024-25 Nations League after their relegation was confirmed on Friday.
Friday’s game was Ruben de la Barrera’s first match in charge, but the Argentine manager was disappointed as his team suffered a 1-0 defeat in Martinique.
La Selecta, who have lost all three games in the current edition of the Nations League, currently sit at the bottom of the group.
Although El Salvador’s fate is already sealed, they are still desperate for a victory after failing to win any of their last 14 internationals.
Their most recent victory came in June 2022 when they secured a 3-1 home win over Grenada in the 2022-23 Nations League.
Meanwhile, Martinique is aiming to defeat their Central American opponents for the third time in four months. They emerged victorious with a 2-1 scoreline when the two nations met in the Gold Cup group stage in June. They then won 1-0 on Friday thanks to Johnny Marajo’s first-half effort.
Following their victory against Curacao on matchday two in September, Martinique currently sits in third position with six points.
They are still in contention for a quarter-final spot, sitting just one point behind second-placed Panama and three points behind group leaders Trinidad and Tobago.
In order to secure a top-two finish, Martinique needs to outperform Panama’s result against Guatemala. However, a win and a Trinidad and Tobago defeat will only be sufficient to overtake the group leaders if there is a significant difference in goal difference.

El Salvador has doubts about the availability of Narciso Orellana and Amando Moreno, who missed Friday’s defeat due to injuries.
Alejandro Henriquez and Enrico Duenas, who came on as substitutes in the 1-0 loss, are in contention to start on Tuesday.
Brayan Gil, who scored one of El Salvador’s two goals in the Nations League campaign, will pose a significant attacking threat for the home side.
As for the visitors, they have concerns about the fitness of Marajo, who was substituted in the 40th minute of the 1-0 victory.
If Marajo is unable to participate, Killian Polomat, who replaced him in the previous match, could be given a starting opportunity.
Brighton Labeau will continue to lead the line for Martinique, aiming to add to his four-goal international tally.
