Pham: Interest From Around 10 Teams In Free Agency

Tommy Pham is hitting the free agent market for the third consecutive season, and this time he’s feeling more confident than ever. After a strong performance in 2023, the veteran outfielder is drawing interest from around 10 teams, a significant improvement from the previous offseason.

During an appearance on the New York’s Post podcast with Jon Heyman and Joel Sherman, Pham revealed that his representatives at Vayner Sports have been in talks with multiple teams. While he has yet to receive a formal offer, the level of interest is much higher than last year when he only heard from three teams before signing with the Mets.

Pham made it clear that he’s seeking an opportunity to play every day and isn’t interested in being a platoon player. His solid performance in 2023, which included a .256 batting average, 16 home runs, and 22 stolen bases, has positioned him well for a starting role. He also maintained strong exit velocities and posted balanced offensive production against right-handed and left-handed pitching.

As Pham approaches his 36th birthday in March, he may be looking at one-year offers again, but it’s likely he will receive a more lucrative deal than his previous $6 million guarantee. Several teams, including the Braves, Nationals, Twins, Dodgers, Blue Jays, Mariners, and Yankees, are considered potential suitors for Pham’s services in the upcoming season.
