Donovan Pacatte, a Union senior quarterback from Cobleskill, will conclude his career in the NCAA Division III playoffs before making a journey to England to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and continue playing American football. Graduating this term, he looks forward to studying at Durham University and joining its American football team. However, before he embarks on his overseas adventure, Pacatte will lead the Garnet Chargers to play in a first-round game against Delaware Valley on Saturday. After receiving an at-large bid, Union is set to make its first NCAA appearance since 2019. Regardless, Pacatte wants to ensure that his team doesn’t settle for just making it to the postseason. The Chargers are ready to make a run, eager to win and eager to beat teams. The players returned for an additional season of NCAA eligibility and are excited about the opportunity to play in big games and win back the Dutchman Shoes Trophy from RPI. Union’s match on Saturday against Delaware Valley will be an intense showdown between two formidable defense-oriented teams. The stakes are high, and everything comes down to execution. In a similar event, RPI will host Widener in the ECAC Scotty Whitelaw Bowl. Both games are set for noon on Saturday.
