Okemos takes seventh in Division 1

Okemos secured the seventh position at the Division 1 state tennis finals, accumulating a total of 11 points.

Rikhil Rajanikanth, the standout player for the Wolves, showcased exceptional skills by reaching the semifinals at No. 2 singles.

Shaurya Padwal (No. 4 singles) and the dynamic duo of Kai Minamisono and Alex Zhang (No. 1 doubles team) also performed remarkably well, advancing to the quarterfinals of their respective flights.

Holt, on the other hand, managed to accumulate three points with senior Justin Jenkins making an impressive quarterfinal appearance at No. 4 singles.

DIVISION 3

Among the area teams, Haslett emerged as the frontrunner with an impressive tally of six points at the state finals. DeWitt and Mason also showcased their prowess by securing three points each.

Ian Opel from Haslett stood out by reaching the semifinals at No. 2 singles, while Sree Komirisetty from the same team made it to the quarterfinals at No. 1 singles.

DeWitt’s Sam Buchinger displayed commendable skills, gaining recognition by making it to the quarterfinals at No. 4 singles before his elimination. Jayden Miller from Mason managed to reach the quarterfinals at No. 1 singles as well.

DIVISION 4

Williamston stole the spotlight in the area with a remarkable six points at the state finals. The Hornets showcased their strength in doubles flights, with Owen Masi and Jack Robke (No. 2 tandem) and Devin Yadav and Kaden Steinke (No. 4 pairing) advancing to the quarterfinals.

Lansing Christian’s Stephen Gollapalli put up an impressive performance, reaching the quarterfinals at No. 1 singles. The Pilgrims concluded with a respectable total of two points.

DIVISION 2

At the state finals, East Lansing secured one point, with the No. 2 doubles pair of Grant Pennock and Nat Hickner being the sole flight to win a match for the Trojans.
