Ohio State No. 1 in College Football Rankings again

Ohio State claims the top spot in this week’s College Football Playoff rankings, with two-time defending champion Georgia following at No. 2 and Michigan at No. 3.

Florida State secures the fourth slot, with Washington rounding out the top five. These teams remain undefeated.

With one loss, Oregon comes in at sixth, followed by Texas at No. 7, Alabama at No. 8, Mississippi at No. 9, and Penn State completing the top 10.

Despite Georgia’s recent victory over Missouri, their best win of the season, the team was unable to claim the top spot. Conversely, one of Ohio State’s strong victories lost some appeal when Notre Dame fell to Clemson. However, the Buckeyes maintain a pair of ranked wins.

Notre Dame lands at No. 20 this week, while Penn State, who suffered a 20-12 defeat against Ohio State last month, holds the No. 10 spot.

This week, Georgia faces No. 9 Mississippi, providing another opportunity to bolster their resume, while Ohio State takes on a struggling Michigan State team.

Michigan will battle it out with the Nittany Lions in Happy Valley, marking their first chance this season to secure a win over a ranked opponent.

In the latest rankings, Iowa enters at No. 22. While they won’t face off against Ohio State or Michigan, they did lose to Penn State and could potentially win the Big Ten West.
