North Kitsap’s boys tennis team continued their dominant performance from the regular season into the Olympic League tournament, securing the championship title.
Hosted on their home courts for two days, the North Kitsap team showcased their exceptional talent and depth. In the singles category, Indigo Gallagher earned second place for the Vikings, narrowly missing out on the title to Sequim’s Garrett Little. The final match saw Little triumph with a 6-1, 6-1 victory. North Kitsap’s Dayshawn Harper put up a fierce fight against Bremerton’s Joseph Cao in the third-place match, ultimately winning 3-6, 6-0, 10-6. Kaden Lancaster secured fifth place by defeating Olympic’s Jonah Pantig.
In the doubles category, North Kitsap’s Mason Chmielewski and Spencer Gillespie claimed the championship title by defeating their teammates Mason Repp and Justin Gallant with a score of 6-2, 6-1. In the third-place match, North Kitsap’s Grady DeVries and Owen Wilkinson emerged victorious over Port Angeles’ Elijah Flodstrom and Tate Alton, winning 6-3, 7-6. Port Angeles’ Nathan Basden and Matthew Miller secured fifth place against North Kitsap’s Jonas Funston and Greysen Prichard.
The upcoming Class 2A West Central District tennis tournament will take place on Friday and Saturday at the Kitsap Tennis and Athletic Club.
