KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Loyola Chicago pulled off a stunning comeback victory, defeating Boston College 71-68 in the consolation game of the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame Classic on Thursday, thanks to a closing 14-2 run.
Braden Norris, the leading scorer, contributed 20 points, including five in the late rally. Jayden Dawson also played a pivotal role, adding 14 points for the Ramblers (3-3), who were impressive from long range, making 13 of 29 (45%) from three-point range.
Not to be outdone, Quinten Post finished with 25 points and nine rebounds for the Eagles (4-2), who struggled from behind the arc, going 4 of 23, as opposed to Loyola’s efficient 3-point shooting.
Norris showcased his sharpshooting skills with four 3-pointers on five attempts in the first half, propelling the Ramblers to a 35-30 lead.
With this exhilarating win, Loyola Chicago will now look forward to facing Chicago State on Tuesday at home, while Boston College prepares for a road trip to Vanderbilt for the ACC/SEC Challenge on Wednesday.
