MANHATTAN, Kan. – No. 3 Texas Volleyball suffered a 25-22, 25-22, 25-21 loss against Kansas State on Wednesday night at Morgan Family Arena.
The Longhorns (18-4, 13-1) will look to rebound when they play Cincinnati at home on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Madisen Skinner recorded 14 kills, while Molly Phillips finished with eight kills and a .417 hitting percentage.
Ella Swindle tallied 25 assists and seven kills on 13 total attempts.
Texas fought back to tie the first set at 22-all after trailing for most of it, but Kansas State finished strong with a 3-0 run to secure the 25-22 win. The Wildcats opened the match with an impressive .393 hitting percentage in the first set.
In the second set, Texas got off to a good start with a 7-4 lead, but Kansas State responded with a 7-1 run to take an 11-8 lead. The Wildcats maintained their advantage and secured a 25-22 win to go up 2-0 in the match.
Kansas State sealed the victory with a 25-21 win in the third set, hitting at a .361 percentage in the set.
