The Washington Capitals may not have unveiled any new jersey designs this season, but one of their most popular past sweaters has made a comeback at the NHL Shop.
The black Capitol dome jersey worn by Alex Ovechkin during his rookie season, in which he scored his first NHL goal, is now available again.
The Ovi rookie year jerseys are available in sizes ranging from small to 5XL (at the time of publishing).
These jerseys are crafted by Mitchell & Ness, a company recently acquired by Fanatics. The tag, sewn onto the bottom left of the jersey, features the date when Ovechkin wore the design: 2005-06.
For enthusiasts of the Mitchell & Ness brand, a variety of creatively designed Capitals items like hats, hoodies, and shirts are also available. Ovechkin’s 2015 Winter Classic jersey, re-released last year, is still in stock.
Among the new additions to the NHL Store are several pairs of Ovechkin’s game-used gloves autographed from previous seasons and signed game-used visors.
You can explore all of the latest merch designs from the Capitals and check out clearance items here.
