Pittsburgh Penguins
Tristan Jarry is set to start for the Penguins against the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday (7:30 p.m. ET; SN-PIT, MSG-B).
Jarry, who had his mask jarred loose in a recent game, faced a shot on Thursday and was considered day to day. But after testing, Penguins coach Mike Sullivan confirmed Jarry’s return, praising the positive test results and his fine vision.
Jarry currently holds a 4-5-0 record with a 2.51 goals-against average and .907 save percentage this season. Alex Nedeljkovic, the backup goalie, is also out with a lower-body injury.
Calgary Flames
Dustin Wolf will make his first start of the season for the Flames against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday (7 p.m. ET; SN1).
Wolf was called up to replace an injured Jacob Markstrom and is expected to perform well based on his record with the AHL. He will be playing in a back-to-back game situation against the Senators.
Columbus Blue Jackets
Patrik Laine’s return from a concussion is highly anticipated as the Blue Jackets take on the Detroit Red Wings. Laine’s injury has kept him out of play for nine games, affecting the team’s performance during his absence.
Laine’s return is a positive development for the Blue Jackets as they aim to improve their record of 4-6-3.
Toronto Maple Leafs
John Klingberg will be back in action for the Maple Leafs when they face the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday (7 p.m. ET; SN).
Klingberg missed the previous game due to an undisclosed injury and is set to replace Simon Benoit in the upcoming game.
Ottawa Senators
Erik Brannstrom will make his return from a concussion against the Calgary Flames on Saturday (7 p.m. ET; SN1).
Brannstrom’s return is expected to have a positive impact on the Senators’ defensive play and the overall team performance.
Anaheim Ducks
Trevor Zegras’s lower-body injury prevented him from playing in the Ducks’ recent loss to the Philadelphia Flyers. His status for the upcoming game against the San Jose Sharks remains unclear as he requires rest to recover properly.
Alex Killorn stepped in to replace Zegras on the first line, contributing to a strong offensive performance in the recent game against the Flyers.
