The Nevada Wolf Pack’s performance in the 2022 season seems to be repeating itself in 2023.
After a disappointing loss to Hawaii last week, Nevada hoped to turn things around. However, they faced another setback with a loss to Utah State, bringing their record to 2-8, just two losses away from matching their 2022 record of 2-10. Confidence in coach Ken Wilson continues to dwindle, casting a shadow over the future of Nevada’s program.

Offense
The story of Nevada’s season has been its struggling offense. Despite making changes by starting QB AJ Bianco over Brendon Lewis, the team’s performance remains subpar. Bianco completed 13 out of 25 passes for 235 yards, two touchdowns, and two turnovers, while Lewis provided some runs but had minimal impact on the passing game.
Running back Sean Dollars continued to carry the team, rushing for 82 yards and a touchdown, thanks to a strong performance by the offensive line.
Defense
Nevada’s secondary displayed flashes of excellence, with Emany Johnson and Bishop Turner both intercepting passes during the game. Despite this, the team’s defense struggled against Utah State’s rush game, allowing a total of 292 rushing yards.
What’s Next
Nevada’s next game will be against the Colorado Rams in Fort Collins. The team will look to reverse their downward trend and secure a much-needed victory.
