NCAA Division 2 Football Rankings For Week 9 (Oct. 23): GVSU Moves To No. 3

Grand Valley State Football has risen to the top-3 in the latest NCAA Division II football rankings after a dominant 73-14 victory over Northern Michigan in Week 7.

The Lakers (6-1) have been on a roll since defeating then-No.1 Ferris State in the Anchor-Bone Classic earlier this month, with a final score of 48-28. GVSU now sits behind only No.1 Colorado School of Mines (8-0) and Pittsburgh State (8-0) in the rankings. Their next match is against Michigan Tech, who put up a strong fight against No. 8 Ferris State in Week 8, ultimately losing 35-21.

After their loss to GVSU, Ferris State has managed to move up one spot in the rankings. They will be facing American International on Oct. 28.

The race for the GLIAC title is heating up, with Ferris State, GVSU, and Davenport (who has moved up two spots to No. 11) all vying for the top spot. Ferris State has a chance to catch up with the two undefeated GLIA teams in the final weeks. Check out the schedule below:

Lenoir-Rhyne Football On The Rise

Lenoir-Rhyne of SAC has made a significant climb in the latest poll, moving up three spots to secure a spot in the top-10 at No. 7. The undefeated 8-0 Bears will face Wingate on Oct. 28.

In the GSC, there have been several changes in the rankings after Delta State, previously ranked No. 5, suffered a 24-21 loss to West Florida, who was ranked No. 18 at the time. This loss pushed Delta State to a tie at No. 16, just one spot ahead of West Florida at No. 18.

Valdosta State has entered the rankings at No. 24 and will face West Florida on the road on Oct. 28.
