NBA fines Moses Moody $2K for flop in Warriors’ loss to Clippers originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area
The Golden State Warriors left Los Angeles disappointed after blowing a 20-plus-point lead in the game against the Clippers.
One player, in particular, may be feeling extra displeased after the afternoon loss at Crypto.com Arena. The NBA has imposed a $2,000 “flopping fine” on third-year Warriors wing Moses Moody.
Moody was fined for kicking out his legs during a crucial 3-point attempt against the Clippers, trying to draw three free throws as his shot hung in the air with the Warriors holding a 100-97 lead.
Despite the flop, Moody had a strong outing, tallying 21 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
Unfortunately, Moody now has to face the consequences of the strict league.
Ironically, the NBA made this decision based on a new rule that 10th-year Warriors coach Steve Kerr had advocated for during the offseason.
Kerr had mentioned the FIBA flop rule in the past and had lobbied for a similar rule in the NBA. Ironically, Moody ended up baiting referees into making a call, and Kerr got a taste of his own medicine.
