NBA GM survey shows Steph Curry still puts fear in opponents

Steph Curry, the Golden State Warriors star, continues to showcase his undeniable influence as he embarks on his 15th NBA season. The NBA.com annual GM Survey for the 2023-24 season revealed that Curry received an impressive 40 percent of the votes when executives were questioned on the player who forces opposing coaches to make the most adjustments. Trailing behind Curry was Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic, securing 33 percent of the votes.

Although Curry’s percentage decreased from last year’s 52 percent, he remains the player who causes the most headaches for opposing coaches. The GM Survey highlights Curry’s domination across various categories, emphasizing his exceptional skills at 35 years old. In the survey, Curry was voted as the NBA’s best point guard, receiving a resounding 63 percent of the votes, surpassing Dallas Mavericks’ Luka Doncic, who earned 27 percent.

Continuing his reign as the best pure shooter in the league, Curry claimed an astounding 90 percent of the votes in this category. Moreover, Curry’s ability to move without the basketball earned him an overwhelming 73 percent of the votes. Recognized for his leadership, Curry secured 23 percent of the vote for best leader, coming second to Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James with 27 percent.

When it comes to clutch plays, 37 percent of NBA GMs expressed their trust in Curry to take the final shot, further reinforcing his reputation as the best pure shooter. The statistics also highlight Curry’s impressive performance in the current season, recording his third-highest points-per-game average at 29.4. This achievement demonstrates that Curry remains a force to be reckoned with.

The Warriors, led by Curry, are eager to secure their fifth NBA title in a decade. Their journey begins on October 24 against the Phoenix Suns, featuring a highly anticipated match-up with Kevin Durant.
