NASCAR Cup Series at Martinsville

The NASCAR Cup Series heads to Martinsville Speedway this weekend for the Xfinity 500. This race will determine which drivers advance to the championship round in Phoenix. Currently, Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell have secured their spots, leaving six others to fight for the remaining two positions. William Byron and Ryan Blaney are in good positions, but Tyler Reddick, Denny Hamlin, Martin Truex Jr., and Chris Buescher are on the outside looking in.

Last year’s race at Martinsville provided a thrilling moment as Ross Chastain made a daring move to secure a spot in the final on points. Unfortunately, NASCAR has banned that maneuver, so we won’t see a similar spectacle this year.

Top drivers and best bets for the Xfinity 500

In order to advance to the Championship 4, Denny Hamlin needs a win or a strong finish at a track where he has excelled in the past, with five wins. It’s no surprise that he’s considered the favorite according to BetMGM. Kyle Larson and William Byron, both from Hendrick Motorsports, are second and third in the standings and have the second-best odds to win. Martin Truex Jr. is the only other driver with odds better than 10-to-1.

Best odds to win
• Denny Hamlin +325
• William Byron +725
• Kyle Larson +725
• Martin Truex Jr. +900

Yahoo Sports’ Nick Bromberg suggests considering Christopher Bell and Joey Logano as well, with odds of +1700. Bromberg advises caution with Brad Keselowski at +700 and highlights Ty Gibbs as a longshot worth considering at +3000.
