Mumbai Indians Bowling Coach and MI Emirates Head Coach Shane Bond moves on from the MI #OneFamily

After a successful tenure with the Mumbai Indians spanning nine years, Shane Bond, the team’s bowling coach, and former head coach of MI Emirates, has decided to move on from the MI #OneFamily, marking the end of an illustrious career that saw him contribute to four IPL trophies for the Mumbai Indians.

 

Shane Bond, renowned as one of the greatest bowlers of his generation, possessed an artistic approach to his craft. He had the ability to master varying conditions and consistently deliver exceptional performances for the team, both as a player and later as a coach.

 

In Bond’s own words, “I would like to express my gratitude to the Ambani family for giving me the opportunity to be a part of the MI One Family for the past nine seasons. It has been an incredible experience filled with countless memorable moments on and off the field. I have been fortunate enough to work alongside and build strong relationships with numerous exceptional individuals, both players and staff. I will miss them all and wish them the very best for the future. Lastly, I would like to extend my thanks to the passionate MI Paltan for their unwavering support.”

 

The team management, players, and staff express their gratitude to Shane Bond for his strong work ethic and for being a friend to everyone in the One Family. Bond’s tenure as the team’s bowling coach, which began in 2015, coincided with MI’s title triumphs in 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020, making him one of the most accomplished and revered coaches in franchise history.

 

During his role as the head coach for MI Emirates in the inaugural edition of ILT20, Bond’s main objective was to integrate the experience of international players with that of local domestic players.
