Muleriders aim for historic 10th win at Live United Bowl this Saturday

The Southern Arkansas Muleriders are gearing up for their 10th football victory of the season, just one day away from facing off against the Missouri Western Griffons. The game will take place at Razorback Stadium on the Arkansas High School campus at noon.

Both teams finished tied for third in their respective conferences, with the Muleriders making their third trip to the Live United Bowl and the Griffons making their third appearance as well. SAU head coach Brad Smiley expressed the significance of playing a meaningful game after Thanksgiving weekend, emphasizing the importance of the Live United Bowl as a top-class event.

The Live United Bowl has gained a reputation as the premier Division II bowl game, with universities already inquiring about participating in future events. For the Muleriders, achieving a 10-2 season is a significant milestone, as the team hasn’t had a 10-win season in over 70 years.

Tickets for the game are priced at $10 for adults and $4 for students. The Muleriders have been actively engaging with the local community, participating in activities such as a meal packing event and visiting schools and care facilities.

The game day schedule includes a banquet for both teams and a community pep rally, followed by the presentation of the Farmers Bank & Trust Trophy to the winning team. With excitement building for the upcoming game, the Muleriders are determined to secure their 10th victory of the season.
