UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS — The Mount Union football team has once again secured the Ohio Athletic Conference championship, marking their 34th title.
The victorious Purple Raiders, ranked second, sealed the conference title with a dominant 49-14 win over the 13th-ranked John Carroll. This win ensures Mount Union’s 33rd appearance in the NCAA Division III playoffs.

The 35-point victory represents the Purple Raiders’ largest margin of victory over the Blue Streaks since 2012. Mount Union has now extended its winning streak over John Carroll to seven games.
Wayne Ruby, the receiver for the Purple Raiders, had a remarkable game, finishing with 10 catches for 137 yards and a touchdown. This performance marks his third consecutive 100-yard receiving game and his 25th in his career.
John Roland led the defense with a career-high nine tackles, while Josh Jones made his fifth interception of the season, tying him for the most in the OAC.
Walsh suffers fifth straight loss
NORTH CANTON — In a game at Larry Staudt Field, Hillsdale took control with a 21-3 halftime lead and triumphed over Walsh with a final score of 28-3.
The Cavaliers (3-7, 1-7) struggled, losing their fifth consecutive game. Their only points came from a 19-yard field goal by Trent Doerfler in the second quarter.
