Missouri State Dominates South Carolina State to Claim Fifth Consecutive Victory in Basketball

Matthew Lee had an impressive performance, leading the Bears to their fifth consecutive victory with a career-high scoring output.

Missouri State (5-1) secured a dominant 92-74 win over South Carolina State (2-5) at Great Southern Bank Arena. The game also included a halftime ceremony to retire Missouri State legend Danny Moore’s jersey.

Despite giving Mizzou a challenge in their previous game, South Carolina State posed no threat as the Bears took an early 21-0 lead and maintained control throughout the game, with the Bulldogs only coming within eight points at one point.

Lee scored 28 points, with half of his points coming from the free-throw line. He also recorded seven assists, showing his versatility on the court.

Donovan Clay contributed 15 points, with 10 of them coming from free throws. South Carolina State committed 32 fouls, allowing MSU to capitalize from the free-throw line.

Defensively, Missouri State limited the Bulldogs to 36.8% shooting while shooting an impressive 58.5%, including 70% in the second half.

Missouri State’s next game will be a Missouri Valley Conference matchup with Evansville, which is off to a strong 6-0 start. Evansville recently secured a 93-74 win over SEMO.
