The upcoming game between the Titans and the Buccaneers has left coach Mike Vrabel uncertain about who will take on the role of starting quarterback.
After Ryan Tannehill suffered an ankle injury, Will Levis stepped in as the starting quarterback for the past two games. However, when asked if he was ready to announce a definitive starting QB for the following week, Vrabel responded with hesitation.
“No, I’m not ready to do that yet,” stated Vrabel to SI.com. “I believe we will discuss the depth chart over the weekend and have it finalized by Tuesday. This will allow us to carefully evaluate all the variables, including Ryan’s health and the issue we’re facing on the offensive line after the previous game.”
Vrabel decided to keep the starting position for Tannehill unresolved for now, as long as it remains a hypothetical situation and Tannehill has yet to receive medical clearance.
“Once Ryan has fully recovered, I will provide you with a decision,” Vrabel assured.
Prior to his injury, Tannehill struggled throughout the season, resulting in a 2-4 record for the Titans. On the other hand, Levis showcased remarkable skills in leading the Titans to victory over the Falcons in his debut as a starting quarterback. However, he faced challenges in Thursday night’s loss to the Steelers.
With a 3-5 record, the Titans are in need of a consistent quarterback performance to boost their chances of making a playoff run in the second half of the season. Despite this, Vrabel is still uncertain about which quarterback will step up to the task.
