Mike Perry calls Eddie Alvarez ‘easy work’; Alvarez warns not to underestimate him at BKFC 56

Mike Perry is oozing confidence as he gears up to face Eddie Alvarez in a bareknuckle showdown, but Alvarez warns Perry not to underestimate him.

The highly anticipated main event of BKFC 56 on Dec. 2 in Salt Lake City will see these two fan-favorite fighters in action. Known for their brawling styles in the MMA world, both Perry and Alvarez have seamlessly transitioned into bareknuckle boxing.

While Perry is confident in his abilities and predicts a dominant performance for the fans, he believes Alvarez is outmatched in this contest.

“There’s only one way to win this fight, and that’s by effortlessly beating him and leaving my knuckles on his face,” Perry confidently stated during an interview with MMA Junkie Radio.

In contrast, Alvarez is expecting a tough fight against Perry.

“He’s going to be tough, he’s going to be tough,” Alvarez expressed. “The guy takes shots and keeps coming. I’m never going to call him an easy opponent. I think it’s foolish of him to consider me as ‘easy work,’ but we’ll see. Maybe that’s genuinely how he feels, considering his training and the opponents he has faced.”

“I don’t think he’s going to be a walk in the park. I’ve identified weaknesses in his game that I can exploit, as have my coaches who were instrumental in making this fight happen. Come December 2, we’re going to capitalize on those weaknesses and achieve great things. This fight has the potential to take a different turn, but I’m not expecting it to be a cakewalk. I don’t anticipate any part of this being a piece of cake,” Alvarez added.

On paper, Perry does possess a few notable advantages. Firstly, he is the larger fighter, having competed mostly at welterweight compared to Alvarez’s lightweight background. Furthermore, Perry has already participated in three bareknuckle fights and a mixed-rules boxing match since leaving MMA, whereas Alvarez is coming off his debut in bareknuckle boxing, where he defeated veteran Chad Mendes.

“I just feel like he doesn’t fully comprehend what he’s up against,” Perry mentioned. “I fail to understand how his boxing performance against Chad is supposed to translate to a fight against me.”

Although Alvarez may lack the same level of experience and size, he believes that if past fights serve as any indication, Perry is in for a tough challenge come December.

“He’s claiming an easy victory, but apart from Luke Rockhold, he hasn’t had an easy fight. Prior to facing those two opponents, he suffered numerous losses. None of his fights have been easy. He takes a lot of damage. He absorbs a lot of blows. They’ve been anything but easy,” Alvarez stated.
