Following a two-week hiatus to deal with personal family matters, Michael Strahan made his return to the set of “Fox NFL Sunday” this past weekend. This concluded the former NFL player’s absence from the sports show where he serves as an analyst. His most recent appearance before this absence was on Oct. 22, game-day coverage.

Returning to “Fox NFL Sunday” for a live show recorded at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado, Michael Strahan celebrated Veterans Day. Having spent part of his childhood at an Army base in Mannheim, Germany, the NFL Hall of Famer has a strong military connection as his father was an Army major.

However, Strahan did not make it to the “Good Morning America” set on Monday. Strahan typically appears alongside Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Lara Spencer, and Ginger Zee. During his absence, his place has been filled by either Juju Chang or Linsey Davis.

It is expected that Strahan will make his return to “GMA” on Tuesday morning. TheTimes has learned that the former football player regularly misses Monday episodes of the New York City-based news show after filming “Fox NFL Sunday” in Los Angeles the previous day.

“GMA” did not immediately return The Times’ request for comment.

Following Michael Strahan’s transition from joining “GMA” as a part-time co-host in 2014 and leaving his popular syndicated talk show “Live With Kelly and Michael” in 2016 to become a full-time co-anchor on ABC, he has played a crucial role in boosting the show’s ratings.

Michael Strahan’s football career saw him as part of the New York Giants for 15 seasons as a defensive end, marking his success with a Super Bowl victory in 2007 against the New England Patriots.
