Sydney Colson and Theresa Plaisance, two-time WNBA Champions with the Las Vegas Aces, are now bringing their comedic talents to the unscripted comedy series “The Syd & TP Show.” Available for streaming on Ryan Reynold’s Maximum Effort Channel across Tubi, Fubo, and Amazon Freevee, this dynamic duo showcases their hilarious personalities on and off the court.
EBONY: How would you describe the energy of the show?
Theresa Plaisance (TP): The show is bursting with energy! Syd and I are early risers, and we bring that same enthusiasm to the set. Surrounded by like-minded individuals, we infused the show with our positive vibes, making the experience authentic and enjoyable. It was a blast from start to finish.
Sydney Colson (Syd): There were definitely times when we had to dial it back. Our goofiness can be contagious, but we remained professional and dedicated to making the show a success. We were able to balance the fun with a strong work ethic.
Did the filming process pose any challenges?
Syd: It was a whirlwind, with just two weeks of shooting. We made the most of it, turning an Airbnb into various sets for the show. The team did a fantastic job of pulling everything together seamlessly.
What was the funniest moment for you during filming?
TP: The beauty shop scene definitely stands out for me.
Syd: I loved the drag queen episode; it was a unique experience that blended two different worlds. Carly, our director, excelled in planning that comedic scenario.
Your mission on the show is to become the face of the league. Do you think you’ll achieve that by the end of the season?
Syd: We believe in our comedic abilities and the ironic premise of the show. Despite being benchwarmers, we’re gaining recognition for our quest to become the face of the league.
TP: We’ve unintentionally manifested it into reality.
