During Lyon’s journey to the Velodrome, the team bus was attacked, resulting in bloodied faces and injuries to the coaching staff. Lyon expressed their reluctance to proceed with the match under such circumstances, leading to the decision to postpone the game. The incident has been reported to the authorities for further action.

A photo circulating on social media showed the injured coach, Fabio Grosso, being treated in the medical room with a bandage on his head. Marseille club president, Pablo Longoria, condemned the situation and expressed concern for Grosso’s well-being.

Additionally, a bus carrying Lyon supporters was also targeted, causing damage to the windows. French sports minister Amelie Oudea-Castera described the images as “revolting” and called for a swift investigation into the matter.
