Manchester United seems to struggle with progress under every manager, a trend that started when Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013. Over the years, the club has seen several big-name managers come and go, but none have been able to bring sustainable or significant success to Old Trafford. During this period, they have signed a few Real Madrid players.
Angel Di Maria joined in 2014, followed by Raphael Varane in the summer of 2021 and Casemiro last year. While all three players had success at Real Madrid, they failed to replicate it at Manchester United.
Now, the club has set its sights on another Real Madrid player – Vinicius Junior.
According to Defensa Central (via The Hard Tackle), Manchester United is eager to have Vinicius in their ranks and is prepared to offer him wages exceeding €20 million per year.
Manchester United ready to offer €20m per year to Real Madrid player
Vinicius is currently one of the best players in the world, despite a slow start to the 2023/24 season due to his central role in Carlo Ancelotti’s new 4-4-2 system.
Almost every club in Europe would be interested in signing Vinicius given his undeniable quality.
While it’s understandable why Manchester United would want Vinicius, it’s unlikely that he will leave Real Madrid anytime soon. He recently signed a long-term contract extension with the club and it doesn’t seem like he would join Old Trafford at this stage of his career, considering the lack of success the Premier League giants have had in recent years.
