LSU men’s basketball ends skid against North Texas in Charleston Classic

LSU’s men’s basketball team bounced back from an embarrassing loss to Nicholls and a blown 15-point lead against Dayton in the opener of the Charleston Classic. They ended their two-game skid by defeating North Texas 66-62 in the consolation bracket on Friday morning.

With a one-point lead at the half, the Tigers had to continue battling in the second half. Their strong offensive performance, shooting 50% from the field, ultimately led them to victory.

Will Baker led the way with 16 points, followed by Derek Fountain with 14 points and Jordan Wright with 12 points.

Defensively, LSU limited North Texas to 31.7% shooting and capitalized on their opponents’ mistakes to secure the win.

Despite allowing three North Texas players to score in double figures, LSU managed to stop the bleeding and will now face the winner of Towson and Wake Forest in its final game in Charleston on Sunday.
