Lil’ Kim Halftime Show Helps New York Liberty In WNBA Finals

Lil’ Kim is receiving recognition for her contributions to music and has been performing her classic songs at various events. Most recently, she performed for her hometown crowd at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY during Game 3 of the WNBA Finals on October 15. The New York Liberty competed against The Las Vegas Aces, and notable attendees included Robin Roberts, Jason Sudeikis, Swizz Beatz, and former WNBA star Sue Bird, as reported by The Washington Post.

Lil’ Kim’s performance helped the Liberty secure a win, following two consecutive losses.

While Lil’ Kim is receiving appreciation from various sources, she has recently expressed her dissatisfaction with Ebony magazine, claiming that they tried to “sabotage” her. On September 18, the esteemed Black publication released multiple covers for their Hip Hop 50 issue, featuring Lil’ Kim, 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, Rick Ross, and Swizz Beatz, each with their own cover.

However, Lil’ Kim’s cover received criticism for excessive airbrushing, leading to backlash on social media. In response, Ebony‘s photography director, Keith Major, commented on Instagram, stating that Lil’ Kim had control over the retouching process. According to the former rapper, the cover that was published by Ebony was not the one she approved, resulting in her disappointment.

On her IG Stories, Queen Bee questioned, “Who is this? Cuz that’s not the photo I approved or any other content they’ve put out. I always told Ebony it looked like a painting but they didn’t wanna listen. They said they loved it.

“It’s the sabotage for me. The funny thing is, that this is THEIR retoucher” followed by crying laughing, sighing, and face-palm emojis.

Lil’ Kim also shared the cover photo that she did approve, as provided by a member of her team, with the caption: “Me & @lilkimthequeenbee stayed up for hours wit the team & chose this .. we have the receipts fool! For the record we definitely didn’t choose that other flick.”

A comparison of the two photos reveals differences in skin tone, contrast, and brightness.
