Legendary duo Steffi Graf and Martina Navratilova overtaken in career prize money already by Iga Swiatek

Despite her early career stage, Iga Swiatek continues to emerge victorious in numerous events, resulting in substantial prize money. Interestingly, she has now surpassed the career prize money of both Steffi Graf and Martina Navratilova.

This is quite unusual, considering that Graf and Navratilova earned significantly less prize money during their careers despite winning more titles.

Achieving Serena’s Record

With impending changes in equal prize money, many current top players are likely to surpass the previous records set by the legends. At just 22 years old, Swiatek has already accumulated over $24,592,763, following her recent WTA Finals victory. In comparison, Navratilova has $21,626,089 and Graf has $21,895,277. While Swiatek has a way to go to reach Serena Williams’ $90 million+ mark, it’s possible for her to soon hit $50 million, placing her second all-time behind the American great.

It’s worth noting that Swiatek has achieved this significant amount without the endorsement deals that other players, such as Emma Raducanu and Naomi Osaka, have secured, despite their lesser success. This highlights that while there is still progress to be made in terms of equality with the ATP, Swiatek’s winning streaks have earned her a substantial amount of cash.
