Renowned off-road racing icon Kyle LeDuc has tragically passed away at the age of 41 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Having confronted stage four head and neck cancer since last November, LeDuc publicly acknowledged his diagnosis in June, announcing his decision to forgo the 2023 season to prioritize his recovery. Throughout his journey, he maintained an unwavering sense of hope, regularly sharing updates from his workshop on Instagram as he strived to make a comeback on the track.

In a solemn statement released today, Championship Off-Road expressed, “It is with profoundly heavy hearts that we convey the news of the passing of seven-time Pro 4 champion Kyle LeDuc following his year-long battle with cancer.”

“LeDuc leaves behind an enduring legacy in the realm of off-road racing, establishing himself as one of the most triumphant drivers in short-course racing history, clinching the 2020 Championship Off-Road Pro 4 title. His fervent spirit as a champion and his relentless competitiveness will be sorely missed, both on and off the racetrack.”

“Our deepest condolences and heartfelt prayers are extended to the LeDuc family and the entire Kyle LeDuc 99 Racing community.”

LeDuc hailed from a prestigious lineage of off-road racing, being the son of Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Famer and Dakar veteran Curt LeDuc, and the sibling of multiple champion Todd, who excelled in the Pro 2 and Class 8 categories.

Throughout his illustrious career, LeDuc amassed an impressive seven Pro 4 championships – six in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series and one in the more recently established Championship Off-Road series, in addition to two Pro Lite titles, three Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series challenge cups, two Pro 4 world championships, and two LOORRS driver of the year accolades. In total, he celebrated over 100 race triumphs.

In 2022, LeDuc narrowly missed out on capturing his eighth Championship Off-Road Pro 4 series crown, finishing as runner-up to C.J. Greaves. Meanwhile, on the international stage, he played a pivotal role in securing Chip Ganassi Racing’s inaugural Extreme E round victory alongside Sara Price in Sardinia.

Le Duc is survived by his wife Amber and their two children.
