Kurt Busch, NASCAR Cup Champion, Makes Exciting Appearance at Havasu 95 Speedway – RiverScene Magazine

Kurt Busch, the former NASCAR Cup Champion, made a breezy post-Thanksgiving visit to Havasu 95 Speedway to promote Star Nursery Night. Back in 1997, Busch was selected by Star Nursery to drive its Featherlite Southwest Tour car, and he made quite the impression by finishing sixth in his debut race. He went on to win the Rookie-of-the-Year honors and the series championship in 1999, which eventually led him to compete in a tryout with Roush Racing.

While he recently retired from NASCAR Cup racing due to a head injury, Busch returned to Havasu 95 Speedway, where he had raced back in the 1990s. He took a golf cart around the racetrack and met with fans, signing autographs and taking pictures.

At the event, Busch also gave a rousing command to start the first 50-lap Pro Late Model feature event of the afternoon. With an impressive racing resume that includes 34 NASCAR Cup wins and being voted one of the 75 Greatest NASCAR Drivers, Busch has certainly left his mark in the world of racing.
