KJ Jefferson on Arkansas’ losing streak: ‘Enough is enough’

Arkansas is determined to break their losing streak and secure a victory after going 41 days without a win. The Razorback QB, KJ Jefferson, stated that enough is enough and they are tired of losing. Their goal is to end the losing streak at 42 days.

During a recent media availability, Jefferson addressed the team’s five consecutive losses. He emphasized that everyone in the program shares the same mindset and is eager to see a victory added to their record.

“We’ve all had enough and we’re tired of feeling this way, tired of losing,” said Jefferson.

Jefferson also expressed the team’s desire to get back in the win column and experience the joy of celebrating in the locker room. The Razorbacks’ seven-point loss to BYU on September 16th initially didn’t seem critical, but it set the stage for their current losing streak.

Playing against strong opponents like LSU, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, and Alabama is no easy task. Despite the challenging competition, the Razorbacks have managed to keep the games competitive, with their largest defeat being just a twelve-point margin.

However, Jefferson and the team are not content with close losses. They are determined to taste victory again, especially as they return to Fayetteville to face Mississippi State, aiming for their first win in over a month.

“We have also learned valuable lessons during this stretch of away games. We are glad to be back home this week,” stated Jefferson.

Sam Pittman explains why Mississippi State is a must-win game

Arkansas entered the 2023 season with high hopes and expectations. Unfortunately, their dreams have been dashed halfway through the season.

With a current record of 2-5 and 0-4 in the SEC, Arkansas’ season may appear bleak. However, head coach Sam Pittman believes there is still a chance to salvage the year and end on a high note.

In a bid to motivate the team and spark a successful campaign, Pittman declared the upcoming game against Mississippi State a must-win. He explained his reasoning during a press conference:

“I believe we perform better when we’re honest with ourselves,” Pittman said. “The players need to understand that. Sometimes, we use the media to communicate messages indirectly to our players. They know what needs to be done.”

Pittman emphasized the team’s desire to reach a bowl game and acknowledged the reality of their situation. He stated, “We want to win because we want to earn a bowl game. That’s our goal, and to achieve it, we must win on Saturday.”
