Kelly Oubre joins 76ers on road trip, set to make comeback next week

Kelly Oubre, forward for the Philadelphia 76ers, is set to make his return next week after less than a month since he was struck by a car and hospitalized. Despite being unable to play in the team’s upcoming games, Oubre has been practicing with the team and even joining them on their recent two-game road trip. Noah Levick of NBC Sports Philadelphia states that Oubre is accompanying the team on their road trip to New Orleans and Boston. Although he won’t be on the court for those games, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that Oubre is aiming to make a comeback next week.

After being struck by a car on Nov. 11, Oubre sustained a broken rib and other soft tissue injuries that resulted in a hospital visit. The incident has been a cause for concern, with police treating Oubre as the victim of a crime due to the failure of the car to stop after the accident. Throughout his recovery, Oubre has received continuous support from the team.

Philadelphia is eagerly anticipating Oubre’s return, especially considering his significant contributions prior to his injury. Signed as a late summer bargain by the 76ers, Oubre played a key role in the team’s strong start to the season, with the Sixers winning 7 out of 8 games with Oubre on the court.
