Kayla Harrison triumphed and delivered a bold challenge after defeating Aspen Ladd.
Headlining the 2023 PFL Championship at The Anthem in Washington, D.C., Harrison (16-1) dominated Ladd (11-5) over 15 minutes, bouncing back from her first career loss with unanimous scores of 30-27.
After initial striking, Harrison gained control on the ground, executing a transition to full mount before Ladd escaped. A clinch against the cage saw Harrison land punches and a hard knee to the head before the horn, maintaining pressure throughout the match.
Returning to the stand-up, Harrison secured a takedown, displaying her dominance with more ground control. Harrison flaunted her boxing skills and executed an arm triangle attempt with Ladd refusing to tap before the round concluded.
Using the entire frame to further highlight her striking ability, Harrison welcomed a potential future opponent call-out, hinting at Bellator champion Cris Cyborg.
“I’m excited PFL has acquired Bellator. I heard there’s a girl in Bellator who thinks she’s a bad b*tch,” Harrison told Dan Hardy during their in-cage post-fight interview. “Well, why don’t we find out?”
