The Giants embark on a quest for their next manager as they interview several internal candidates.
According to sources, San Francisco has interviewed Kai Correa, the bench coach and interim manager, for the managerial position.
Correa, who served as bench coach under former manager Gabe Kapler for four seasons, took over as interim manager when Kapler was dismissed before the final series of the 2023 MLB season.
In early October, Giants president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi stated that the team would first interview internal candidates before considering external ones.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle’s Susan Slusser, Mark Hallberg, the third base coach, is the leading internal candidate, followed by Correa, former third base coach Ron Wotus, and bullpen coach Craig Albernaz.
While it remains unclear who the Giants will interview among external candidates, they seem to have a few internal options in mind.
