Justin Thomas to Compete for Atlanta Drive GC in New Golf League

TGL, in collaboration with Atlanta Drive GC, has announced Justin Thomas as the inaugural member of their four-man team in a new-format, six-team golf league set to launch in January.

Developed by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, TGL is renowned for fusing advanced technology with live action in golf. The league’s upcoming matches will take place at SoFi Center, a cutting-edge arena in West Palm Beach, Florida that features a data-rich virtual course and state-of-the-art short-game complex.

Thomas expressed his excitement about representing Atlanta Drive GC and the state of Georgia, stating, “To be aligned with an owner like Arthur Blank and his incredible variety of businesses as they expand their golf portfolio feels like a great fit for me.” He assured fans that the team would strive for championship victories while also enjoying the unique TGL format that aims to grow the game of golf worldwide.

Thomas, a prominent figure in the golfing world, boasts an impressive track record with 15 PGA Tour triumphs, including two major championships. He secured victory at the 2017 and 2022 PGA Championship tournaments and emerged as the winner of the PGA Tour FedEx Cup in 2017.

During his time at the University of Alabama, Thomas was named the National Player of the Year in 2012 and contributed to the Crimson Tide’s national-championship-winning team in 2013.

As the first PGA Tour player to commit to the league, Thomas sets the precedent for the 24 other players who will join teams in the TGL.

PGA Tour Superstore CEO Dick Sullivan, who oversees Atlanta Drive GC, expressed his enthusiasm about Thomas joining the team, emphasizing his exceptional talent, dedication, and competitive spirit, which resonate with the values upheld by all AMBSE teams and businesses.

Five out of the six TGL teams have been unveiled, including Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco. The league is scheduled to commence on January 9th, with 15 regular-season matches, followed by television coverage of the semifinals and finals on ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPN+.
