Jets or Giants? Vikings or Packers? Rams or Cowboys?

WHO NEEDS IT MORE? Minnesota Vikings

Jordan Love’s performance for the Green Bay Packers has been lackluster since his initial showings in Weeks 1 and 2. As a doubter myself, he has done little to convince me that he can be the long-term solution at quarterback for Green Bay. In Week 5, Love recorded the sixth-worst passer rating (32.2) by a Packers QB since 1992 when facing the Raiders. Although his individual numbers looked better in the recent loss to the Broncos, it is concerning that he failed to score any points in the first half against a Broncos defense that typically allows 33.3 points per game. The Packers have placed their trust in a post-Aaron Rodgers era and if Matt LaFleur wants to avoid a 10-loss season, he needs to steer the Packers in the right direction.

Surprisingly, I believe that the Minnesota Vikings are in greater need of a win. Despite a rough start to the season with three consecutive losses and the absence of Justin Jefferson, the Vikings managed to defeat the formidable San Francisco 49ers, a top team in the NFC. Kirk Cousins showcased his brilliance with an exceptional performance in prime time. Even without the best receiver in the game, Minnesota still outshines Green Bay. I have faith that the Vikings can make an impact this year, which cannot be said for the struggling Packers. A win against Green Bay would bring the Vikings back to .500 and provide momentum for the upcoming favorable schedule. Ultimately, Minnesota has more at stake and desperately needs this victory.
