The New York Jets’ quest for offensive solutions will continue into the offseason, where they are expected to revisit their pursuit of Las Vegas Raiders Pro Bowl receiver Davante Adams, a target they have been eyeing since last summer.

While the Jets inquired about reuniting Adams with Aaron Rodgers before last month’s trade deadline, they were swiftly turned down. However, sources around the NFL speculate that New York will not give up and will seek Adams again in the offseason, hoping to finally pair him with Rodgers.

“It will happen,” one source predicted to ESPN. “I believe so.”

Sources suggest that the Raiders’ willingness to trade Adams could be influenced by their performance in the current season. With the Raiders winning two consecutive games under interim head coach Antonio Pierce, there’s growing optimism within the organization. Adams also appears content and satisfied with the recent developments.

If the Raiders continue winning and show signs of progress, Adams may decide to stay in Las Vegas, where he is enjoying his time. However, if the team struggles and Adams sees a potential reunion with Rodgers in New York as a better opportunity for success, he could request a trade.

Adams and Rodgers share a great bond and spent time together in Las Vegas recently, with Adams sharing the moment on social media. The Jets have been closely monitoring Adams and made another attempt to acquire him last month, but the Raiders declined the offer just before dismissing their coach and general manager.

Adams, 30, has had a productive season with 57 catches for 659 yards and three touchdowns. Despite their efforts, the Jets are struggling with the league’s 29th-ranked offense, averaging just 16 points per game and failing to score a touchdown since their victory over the Giants in October.
