The New York Jets made some key roster moves ahead of their upcoming game against the Atlanta Falcons. They activated Justin Hardee and Wes Schweitzer from injured reserve, while also releasing Adrian Amos and Xavier Newman. In addition, they elevated Jake Hanson and Perrion Winfrey for Sunday’s game.
Hardee, a core special teams player, recently returned to practice after suffering a hamstring injury in Week 5. He has been a vital contributor on special teams, playing 115 snaps in the first five games and tallying one special teams tackle. Since joining the Jets in 2021, Hardee has established himself as one of the league’s top special teams players, ranking fourth in special teams snaps and fifth in tackles.
Meanwhile, Schweitzer, who had been sidelined with a calf injury since Week 8, also returned to practice this week. The offensive lineman has appeared in five games this season and has played 81 offensive snaps. Known for his versatility, Schweitzer has started 60 of the 80 games he has played in his six NFL seasons and has taken snaps at every position since being drafted by the Falcons in 2017.
