Isaiah Collier shines in Galen Center debut as USC takes down CSUB by 26

Isaiah Collier made quite the impression on the crowd during his debut at the Galen Center, igniting a buzz every time he touched the ball. As the No. 1-ranked recruit (Rivals) of the 2024 class, all eyes are on the freshman as he kicks off his career at USC.

However, the real challenge for Collier lies in meeting the high expectations set by fans every game. Despite an impressive start with 18 and 19 points in his first two games, Collier himself may prove to be his toughest opponent at USC.

Hailing from Georgia, the 6-foot-5 guard has showcased his remarkable skills in the team’s first two contests, effortlessly maneuvering through the defense and scoring a total of 37 points. USC’s head coach, Andy Enfield, recognizes Collier’s potential but also emphasizes the need for the young guard to refine certain aspects of his game, particularly reducing turnovers and staying engaged on the defensive end.

While scoring doesn’t seem to be an issue for the freshman, leading the team in turnovers is a concern that Collier recognizes and aims to address. Despite the absence of starting wing Kobe Johnson, the Trojans remain optimistic about their upcoming games, with Coach Enfield expressing confidence in the team’s potential.
