Henry Cejudo believes that Justin Gaethje would overpower Max Holloway.
Holloway (25-7 MMA, 21-7 UFC) had expressed his interest in challenging “BMF” champion Gaethje (25-4 MMA, 8-4 UFC), but Cejudo doesn’t think it would be in his favor.
With 20 knockouts to the “The Highlight’s” name, Cejudo envisions Gaethje causing significant damage to former featherweight champion Holloway, possibly knocking him out.
“Who is more likely going to win? Man, I love the fact that Max Holloway is taking this fight,” Cejudo stated on his YouTube channel. “I love the fact that he’s creating a story for the BMF. But when it comes to a guy who throws volume (Holloway) vs. a guy who likes to throw power (Gaethje), and he does it very well, and has been putting people to sleep … He’s too dangerous.
“He’s got too much power for a guy like Max Holloway. He’s going to chop Max Holloway’s legs. He’s going to calf kick him, he’s going to bring in those crazy uppercuts, and he may be the first guy to actually knock out Max Holloway. You have to give it to Justin ‘The Highlight’ Gaethje. I’ve got him by either TKO or KO. He’s just too big and he’s too strong. He’s going to go out there and try to get rid of Holloway within two to three rounds.”
In his seven professional losses, “Blessed” has never been knocked out. Holloway, who fought the likes of Jose Aldo, Alexander Volkanovski, Dustin Poirier, and Conor McGregor, has also never been dropped in his career.
