It’s part driving range, part Dave & Busters, and part bar and restaurant. With heated bays to hit from, Topgolf offers a chance for any golfer to work on their game and beat the wintertime blues. But it’s not just for golfers. During the first full week the Cranston location opened, a Providence Journal reporter and his non-golfing wife went to see what the Topgolf Rhode Island experience was like.

Here are five things that stood out from their trip:

1. The aura of Topgolf is unmistakable, drawing you in from the moment you see the impressive building from Route 37. The excitement only grows as you enter the complex and are greeted by friendly staff.

2. Aside from the golfing, they noticed that Topgolf offers a good sports bar vibe with inviting indoor bars and a place that’s appealing to more people than you would initially think.

3. They found that Topgolf’s different target-based games were enjoyable and accommodated a variety of different skill levels. It was an indoor experience that still allowed them to see shots fly in the air, even in the winter.

4. They also realized that Topgolf is best enjoyed as a group activity, making it more affordable and fun with friends and family.

5. While the food at Topgolf was not exceptional, the overall price was deemed fair and it was suggested to enjoy a meal at one of Cranston’s fine restaurants before heading to Topgolf.

After their Topgolf experience, it was concluded that it is truly a winner and worth a visit, especially for those looking for something different to do during the colder winter months.
